In conversation with comedian Adam Friedland interview magazine<\/i>Maury Povich revealed that his wife, Connie Chung, was earning significantly more than him when they tied the knot. <\/p>\n
He further explained that Chung was making about “10 times” what he was making at the time. <\/p>\n
The 87-year-old television personality started off by explaining that he has had a wonderful life because of his wonderful wife.<\/p>\n
When Friedland commented, “Your life is the best it’s ever been.”<\/p>\n
Povich responded, “Only because I married Connie Chung.”<\/p>\n
When Friedland jokingly accused him of being a “gold digger”, Povich joked, “Absolutely.”<\/p>\n
“When we got married my wife was making 10 times what I was making. How’s that?” Povich said of his wife of 41 years.<\/p>\n
Earlier, in a previous conversation people magazine<\/i>Chung shared insight into a lesser-known side of her husband. <\/p>\n
“There’s a whole different side to Morrie that no one knows about,” <\/p>\n
He claimed, “He is an avid reader. He is a political buff. He is a history buff.”<\/p>\n
“And I’ve always said to them, ‘It’s great that you’re determining the paternity of every child in America, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but you can get around to these intellectual conceits.’ ” <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
