\u201cSpeak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, ruler of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people\u2026.\u201d<\/i> – Haggai 2:2<\/p>\n
Zerubbabel was governor of Judah 60 years after the destruction of the great temple built by Solomon. The temple was in ruins, and the Lord said to the prophet Haggai, Has the time come for you to live in your roofed houses, and this house will remain in ruins? (Hag. 1:4) God was calling the remnant of His people to come out of their comfort zones and restore the glory of God’s house.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
God is doing the same thing among Christian workplace believers today around the world. He is raising up a remnant of believers in the workplace who are being chosen to use their resources, skills, and experience to impact the nations who have not heard the message of Jesus Christ. The only way they can be heard is to bring commerce to their country through Christian workplace believers, as these are areas closed to normal missionary efforts.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut now, O Zerubbabel, be strong,\u201d says the Lord. \u201cO Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, be strong. Be strong, all the people of the land,\u201d says the Lord, \u201cand do the work. For I am with you,\u201d says the Lord Almighty. “This is the covenant I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit will remain with you. Do not be afraid” (Haggai 2:4-5).<\/p>\n
God is calling a remnant of believers into the workplace today, understanding that they must come out of Egypt from their previous work life. Egypt symbolizes the path of the world. It represents sweat and toil. This is meat. This new approach is an example of a pioneering spirit. God knows we need courage to move forward in this area. Furthermore, God assures us that His Spirit is with anyone who wishes to remain within the realm of supernatural belief.<\/p>\n

Ask God to show you how He wants to use you in the workplace this year.
