The situation started when Ferreira responded to a meme about Charlie working on the Wuthering Heights soundtrack. “Charli is calling Sky Ferreira into the studio Wuthering Heights<\/i>,\u201d was written in the meme. In response, Sky said that the session consisted of recording her “old songs”. <\/p>\n
Skye replied in the comments, “To record my old songs******.” Her allegations went viral, following which more posts were made from the singer. “Someone sent me your ex account. I’ve toured for years. I work. I hate to share this with you, but your favorite artist records my old songs. I hope this answers your question.<\/p>\n
In a lengthy message, he said that his experiences in the industry have affected his personal and professional life and said he has evidence to support his claims.<\/p>\n
“I wasn’t going to say anything. I’m being dragged and humiliated for no reason. This brought back a lot of things I’ve worked so hard to move past. No one ‘saved’ me or helped me. My life was destroyed for over 10 years and it’s a public joke. Publications etc. It’s not funny. It doesn’t give people permission to disrespect me and take advantage of me, or manipulate many situations based on their perception of me I wasn’t allowed to do anything.” <\/p>\n
She continued, “I mind my own business, so I don’t know why everything is so loaded. I don’t want to be upset. I don’t want a lot of people’s actions to be bad for me and my album. I’m an honest person. People don’t care about the truth. It’s about whatever narrative is appropriate or more exciting. I’m happy I can finally move on with my life.”<\/p>\n
Now, Charlie’s management has responded in a timely manner, highlighting Sky’s track record as a songwriter and collaborator and defending Charlie’s own contributions to the music industry. <\/p>\n
The statement began, “Charli has made seven albums, four mixtapes and one EP, and has written countless songs for other artists throughout his career.
