But while I was focusing on the S&#038;P 500 and the local market, China&#8217;s stock market quietly delivered one of its strongest years in a decade. The Shanghai Composite repeatedly hit ten-year highs, while the CSI A500 index \u2013 which tracks China&#8217;s 500 largest and most liquid listed companies \u2013 is projected to rise about 23% in 2025, ahead of the S&#038;P 500 by about 16%. What stood out was how China handled the situation during the recent Middle East conflict. Chinese shares were more resilient than many regional and global markets.
