A British tourist disappeared during a solo trip to the US after mysteriously meeting a man carrying flowers at the airport – before her phone suddenly switched off.<\/p>\n

21-year-old Katherine Esther Gamboa Kerwood went to California for a week-long sightseeing trip, but when her family discovered she never checked into the hostel where she claimed to be staying, they became concerned.<\/p>\n

The last message her loved ones received was on Friday – and when they asked to speak to her on the phone, she suddenly stopped responding.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco Police Department is now searching for the missing woman. <\/p>\n
