Since Google owns Fitbit, they’ve been making fitness smartwatches, bringing the same idea to kids with the Fitbit Ace LTE. This kid-friendly smartwatch is deeply discounted, currently $99.95 ($229.95 originally at launch in 2024) – Lowest price ever, according to price-checking tools.

The Fitbit Google Ace LTE focuses on making active lifestyles fun for kids with engaging games and animated digital animals. It has a screen time limit – if you’re playing a game, you’ll need to reach a specified activity target every five to 10 minutes before you can continue playing. Parents can track their child’s smartwatch through its LTE GPS signal. The smartwatch supports texts and calls, is compatible with Android or iOS, and has parental controls.

However, the Fitbit Google Ace LTE isn’t perfect. It can be dull at times; There’s no compatible app for music or sleep tracking; And the rewards system may be a bit high—it’s all according to PCMag’s “excellent” review.

This watch is designed for kids aged seven to 11 and you’ll need a $9.99 monthly subscription (though they sometimes offer an annual Ace Pass subscription for 50% off) which gives access to games, GPS location tracking, and LTE services. As a parent or guardian, you’ll need to download the Fitbit Ace app to set up the watch and subscribe to an Ace Pass data plan.

What do you think so far?
<button class="ml-1 font-semibold text-brand-green underline hover:text-brand-green-700" type="button" aria-label="Comment section trigger" onclick="window.openweb.scrollToComments('119862')" x-text="hasComments ?
