Samsung increased production of the Ultra by 200,000 units, so total April production is now 1.5 million. In other words, two out of every three S26 phones made are Ultras.

What is the reason for this unusual division? First, the base S26 attracts buyers who want top performance without paying a higher price or getting a larger screen. Second, the Ultra offers a unique privacy display feature that blurs the screen from the edge but remains clear when viewed straight on. This is the first time Samsung has incorporated this privacy technology directly into the screen.

However, there is a downside to this success. Samsung has reportedly cut production of its budget A-series phones. The Galaxy A57 count dropped from 1.8 million to 1.6 million units and the A17 count dropped from 4.4 million to 3.9 million. High memory chip prices are clearly making it difficult to keep these low-cost devices affordable.

Thank you for being a part of our community.
