A copy of the letter was posted online by a social media influencer on Friday and DaBaby confirmed it is authentic.<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell (D-Dublin) and his representatives denied allegations made by social media influencers earlier this week and repeated by political insiders in recent weeks that he behaved inappropriately toward youth staffers and others.<\/p>\n<p>DaBaby&#8217;s letter, sent Thursday, said: &#8220;It has come to our attention that you have made false statements accusing Mr. Swalwell of sexual harassment and non-consensual sexual intercourse&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We write to demand that you immediately and permanently cease your misconduct, including ceasing any publication of such information or allowing it to be disseminated in any form, whether oral, written, electronic or otherwise,&#8221; the letter said.<\/p>\n<p>DaBaby confirmed to the Times that he sent the letter via text. He declined to say whether other cease-and-desist letters were sent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can tell you that many baseless allegations have been made against Congressmen and we are attacking them on all fronts,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Swalwell&#8217;s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Cheyenne Hunt, a Laguna Hills attorney and executive director of a progressive advocacy group who said she is helping organize a group of women who accuse Swalwell of inappropriate behavior, posted a screenshot of DaBaby&#8217;s letter online Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is the first page of a cease-and-desist letter from Swalwell&#8217;s team \u2013 shared with the recipient&#8217;s permission,&#8221; he wrote on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The name of the person who received the letter was redacted. <\/p>\n<p>Hunt told The Times on Friday that she knew of two individuals who had received cease-and-desist letters from Swalwell&#8217;s team.<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell had earlier in the week denied any inappropriate behavior, including allegations that his office required interns to sign nondisclosure agreements. \u201cThis is a lie,\u201d he told reporters. <\/p>\n<p>Swalwell stated that he never behaved inappropriately with female staff members or had sexual relations with any staff member or intern.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sacramento &#8211; An attorney for Representative Eric Swalwell, a leading Democratic candidate for California governor, sent a cease-and-desist letter to an unidentified person on Thursday demanding that they stop accusing the congressman of sexual harassment.
