A 20-year-old man was arrested after throwing a Molotov cocktail at the San Francisco home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, according to police. <\/p>\n
A company spokesperson also confirmed the attack in a statement, saying someone “made a threat against our San Francisco headquarters.” <\/p>\n
“Thankfully, no one was hurt,” the statement said. “We deeply appreciate how quickly the (San Francisco Police Department) responded and how much support we had from the city in keeping our employees safe. The individual is in custody, and we are assisting law enforcement with their investigation.”<\/p>\n
San Francisco police said officers responded to a home in North Beach at about 4:12 a.m. Friday in reference to a fire investigation. Officers found that a man threw an “incendiary destructive device” at the house and set it on fire at the gate before fleeing. <\/p>\n
According to officials, no one was injured. <\/p>\n
According to the statement, police responded to the 1400 block of 3rd Street at approximately 5:07 a.m. in reference to a business making threats to burn down the building. They realized the suspect was from a previous incident and took him into custody. <\/p>\n
