Dan, who is the son of comedian and actor Eugene Levy, explained how being the son of a famous father affected his father-son dynamic.<\/p>\n
The ‘Big Mistakes’ star is now working in the industry himself but he was not always interested in becoming a celebrity.<\/p>\n
“The thing I’ve never heard you talk about, and I’m really curious about, is the experience of being a famous father,” host Tom Power asked Dan during his appearance on ‘Q with Tom Power.’<\/p>\n
Dan responded, “I hate it. It caused some pain in my relationship with my father.”<\/p>\n
She explained, \u201cWhen you’re a closeted person who is suppressing parts of yourself and feeling incredibly insecure about who you are and what place you take up in the world, the last thing you want is for people to stare.<\/p>\n
“The attention we got whenever we left the house was incredibly uncomfortable for me. I began to distance myself from being with him in public.”<\/p>\n
Eugene took Dan’s behavior personally, even though it was not his intention. He said, “I saw it as a need to make myself feel comfortable in the world, as a person who didn’t feel comfortable in the world.”<\/p>\n
And how he improved his relationship with Eugene, they sat down and understood each other’s point of view.<\/p>\n
Dan said, “We had that conversation and it was important for us to have that clarity. I think it was really important for him to understand why I did this for so long.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
