The royal couple shared details on their website with the title “Return to Australia: Connection and community.”<\/p>\n
\u201cPrince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex today returned to Australia for the first time since 2018 \u2013 arriving in Melbourne and spending the day with organizations and communities working at the forefront of care, recovery and human connection,\u201d the statement said. <\/p>\n
“From supporting children and families through complex health journeys, to meeting women rebuilding their lives, to honoring veteran families, the day reflects a “commitment to service and strengthening communities.”<\/p>\n
It added that the day began at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH), where Meghan and Harry were welcomed by the hospital’s CEO and senior adolescent and mental health leaders. <\/p>\n
The hospital is widely recognized as one of Australia’s leading pediatric centres, providing integrated, world-class care to children and young people.<\/p>\n
After meeting children and families on Main Street, Meghan and Harry spent time in the hospital’s Kelpie Ward, which supports young people facing complex physical and mental health challenges through its Adolescent Health Service. <\/p>\n
She spent time in Kelpie’s Therapy Garden, where RCH patients grow herbs and vegetables for the hospital kitchen as part of the RCH’s Therapeutic Garden programme. <\/p>\n
There, he heard first-hand from staff about the importance of a holistic, patient-centered approach that prioritizes emotional well-being alongside clinical treatment, such as the Therapy Garden program, which harnesses the benefits of nature.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
