Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement. \u201cWith Ising, AI becomes the control plane \u2013 the operating system of quantum machines \u2013 transforming fragile qubits into scalable and reliable quantum-GPU systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia further explained <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nvidianews.nvidia.com\/news\/nvidia-launches-ising-the-worlds-first-open-ai-models-to-accelerate-the-path-to-useful-quantum-computers\">Press release<\/a> That Ising &#8220;provides high-performance, scalable AI tools for quantum error correction and calibration \u2013 two of the most critical challenges in building hybrid-quantum classical systems.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The chip giant named it Ising after a famous mathematical model.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia&#8217;s announcement aired on &#8220;Known as&#8221;.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/worldquantumday.org\/\">world quantum day<\/a>,\u201d ever since an international group of scientists declared in 2021 that April 14 should be used to promote public awareness of quantum technology. <\/p>\n<p>The date was chosen because 4.14 represents the first three digits of a key concept in quantum physics known as Planck&#8217;s constant.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Nvidia also recorded its longest winning streak since 2023 on Tuesday, with shares rising 18% in ten days.<\/p>\n<p>Proponents promote quantum computing as a transformative technology that could accelerate drug discovery and solve problems impossible to answer on everyday computers.<\/p>\n<p>The US government and technology giants are investing heavily in advancing quantum computing. <\/p>\n<p>Over the past few years, hyperscalers like <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-13\">Microsoft<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-14\">alphabet<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>And <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-15\">Amazon<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>    has announced chips to power future devices. <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-16\">IBM<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>    It is in a race to develop its first quantum computer by 2029.<\/p>\n<p>But the market remains small, with the biggest names having a market cap of about $31 billion before Thursday&#8217;s open. <\/p>\n<p>The sector is also sensitive to wide fluctuations due to its speculative nature, and many stocks have declined year-to-date. D-Wave and Righetti are down by 20% and 15% respectively. <\/p>\n<p>IonQ also made news on Tuesday.
