According to security experts, there is a possibility of a direct attack from Russia on Britain, whose four weapons manufacturing sites are under serious threat. Former government terrorism adviser Colonel Richard Kemp has warned of “direct threats against ordinary British people” as the Kremlin targets UK companies that make weapons for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It comes after the UK government accused Vladimir Putin of running an operation to surveil and tamper with underwater cables and pipelines around the British Isles. Although the Kremlin has denied the allegations, Defense Secretary John Healey told the Russian president that “we see you” and “your activity on our cables and our pipelines”. Colonel Kemp is now urging the government to take Russian intelligence threats seriously, highlighting the risks against British arms manufacturers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

he told mirror<\/a>: “We should expect sabotage attacks launched by Russia, but in such a way that they are deniable operations because Britain is considered vulnerable. This is a direct threat against ordinary British people, workers in these places, who will have some protection but who will be seen as vulnerable because it will not be enough.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI would view these operations as possibly being launched by criminal organizations linked to Russia and the threat should be taken extremely seriously.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“In my view the Kremlin is very likely to arrange such an attack because they believe they will get away with it and its purpose is to intimidate. They certainly have the capability and have shown they are willing to do it before without sacrificing their agents.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, security sources told the publication that it is “very possible” that Russia has deep-cover sleeper agents across the UK. However, according to Colonel Kemp, they are “unlikely to sacrifice or risk their own agents on something like this”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The UK has announced its largest ever drone package for Ukraine, including more than 120,000 long-range strike drones, intelligence and reconnaissance drones, logistics drones and maritime capabilities. The government said they are “vital” to their defense against Ukrainian counter-attacks as well as continued Russian attacks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Russia is continuously carrying out missile and drone attacks on Ukraine. At least 16 people were killed in overnight attacks across the country, marking a wartime record number of drone attacks on Ukraine in March.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Russian defense chiefs have accused Ukraine of drawing other countries into the conflict. Addresses in London, Leicester, Reading and a major US airport have been named as possible targets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Russian Defense Ministry said: “Amid growing losses in the Ukrainian armed forces and a growing shortage of manpower, the leadership of a number of European countries has decided to increase the production and supply of UAVs to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
