According to NDTV report, a canteen employee named Chandrashekhar, who worked at the Sri Lakshmi canteen inside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch.

Police caught Chandrashekhar when he was selling IPL 2026 tickets at very high prices. He had more than 180 tickets and was selling each for around ₹15,000 to ₹19,000. These tickets were for the big match between RCB and LSG on 15th April, for which there was huge demand.

Name of company used to book tickets in bulk for RCB games

The investigation began when police received a tip-off that some people were buying tickets in bulk and then selling them at high prices in the black market. When the officials started checking the people inside the stadium, they found Chandrashekhar involved in it.

When the police went deeper, they found the entire network behind black marketing of tickets. These tickets were actually booked online through TicketGenie in bulk using company names such as Swastik Heavy Engineering and Industrial Automation Consultant Company.

About 50 more tickets were also purchased under Dharani Computers Company. Later, all these tickets were diverted and sold illegally at high rates. The police also found that this was not the first time, a similar incident had happened during the IPL 2026 clash between RCB and CSK on March 28.

Also read: Virat Kohli ignored Chris Gayle, Suresh Raina while choosing the biggest match-winner in IPL

Ticket racket worth ₹17.5 lakh busted in M. The investigation so far has revealed that 181 tickets worth Rs 17.52 lakh were purchased and then sold in the black market. This shows how big and planned this racket was.

During interrogation, Chandrashekhar revealed that these tickets were given to him by a KSCA member named Ganesh Parikshit. The canteen employee revealed that the KSCA official had asked him to sell the tickets at higher prices.

At present Parikshit is absconding and the police is searching for him. Police have already registered a case against some directors of the company who may have helped in this illegal work.
