(Worthy News) \u2013 A renewed effort is underway in the U.S. House of Representatives to seek the first impeachment of Donald Trump, following new declassified information related to a 2019 Ukraine whistleblower complaint.<\/p>\n

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan told Just the News that lawmakers are actively considering legislative steps to remove impeachments from the Congressional Record.<\/p>\n

“You need a majority vote, we need a bill, and that’s really something we’re considering,” Jordan said.<\/p>\n

The development follows a Just the News exclusive revealing previously classified memos related to the 2019 impeachment inquiry. According to the report, the CIA analyst who filed the whistleblower complaint \u2013 publicly identified as Eric Ciaramella \u2013 acknowledged that he had no direct knowledge of the phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Instead, his complaint was based on second- and third-hand accounts.<\/p>\n

The documents also reportedly highlight concerns about potential political bias. Ciaramella had professional ties to then-Vice President Joe Biden, including work related to Ukraine policy and conversations involving former Ukrainian prosecutor Yuri Lutsenko, who was investigating Burisma, an energy company linked to Biden’s son.<\/p>\n

Further revelations indicate that the whistleblower’s representative had prior contact with the staff of Adam Schiff, a key figure in the impeachment proceedings \u2013 contact that was not initially disclosed in official filings. The memo also describes the political views and opposition expressed toward Republican figures such as Devin Nunes and former national security aide Kash Patel.<\/p>\n

A second official, described as a National Security Council or NSA individual involved with the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment, reportedly endorsed the complaint despite lacking direct knowledge. The man cited “moral and patriotic duty” as motivation.<\/p>\n

Legal scholar Alan Dershowitz weighed in on the impeachment effort, saying that although the process may require congressional or judicial action, the credibility of impeachment has already been significantly diminished.<\/p>\n

“I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t be done,” Dershowitz said. “History will erase it already… It’s hard for anyone to sit back now and say this was a fair impeachment. He violated the Constitution.”<\/p>\n

Efforts to end Trump’s impeachment are not new. In 2023, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a resolution targeting the 2019 impeachment, while Representative Elise Stefanik introduced a separate resolution addressing the 2021 impeachment. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy also expressed support for such measures.<\/p>\n

Any removal would require a majority vote in the House, making the outcome dependent on the current political balance in Congress.<\/p>\n

From a broader perspective, the renewed push reflects ongoing divisions over the legality of the impeachment process and raises new constitutional questions about Congress’s authority to revise its historical record.<\/p>\n
