A killer husband who murdered his wife and started a new family under a fake name has been caught after a 30-year manhunt.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsign up for Sun<\/span> Newsletter\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\tThank you!\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n On April 15, police finally captured and arrested the fugitive killer in San Lorenzo, Paraguay.<\/p>\n Panisa was on the international wanted list and Interpol’s Red Notice system for the femicide of his former partner 37 years ago.<\/p>\n The brutal murder of his former wife Fernanda Estruzani Panisa made headlines in the summer of 1989 when she was found stabbed to death in her apartment in southern Brazil.<\/p>\n The victim was 21 years old at the time and suffered 72 stab wounds in what investigators described as an extremely violent murder.<\/p>\n Locked up<\/p>\n Police broke down the door of singer D4VD, arrested in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n cold Case<\/p>\n Estate agent’s body exhumed amid fears ‘Monster of Avignon’ rapist murdered him<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n His younger daughter was living with her grandmother at the time, and so did not witness the horrific attack.<\/p>\n At the time, Panisa confessed to the brutal murder, telling the jury that he was jealous of his ex-wife after their relationship ended.<\/p>\n He was sentenced in 1991 but appealed the verdict several times and became embroiled in complex legal disputes.<\/p>\n Legal problems meant the killer was only convicted of his crime in 2008, and sentenced to 20 years behind bars.<\/p>\n But by the time the sentence was pronounced, Panisa had already disappeared.<\/p>\n Authorities say Panisa fled Brazil and built a new life in Paraguay using forged documents.<\/p>\n Living under the name Carlos Viana, the man started a small business and a new family in San Lorenzo.<\/p>\n His new family was completely unaware that they were living with a murderer.<\/p>\n Officials have described the arrest as a victory for justice as perpetrators of decades-old crimes will also be tracked down and sent to jail.<\/p>\n It comes as tourists are being stabbed in holiday hotspots around the world.<\/p>\n In March, a 25-year-old German tourist was attacked outside a hotel in Majorca.<\/p>\n The horrific incident was part of an armed gang robbery.<\/p>\n And in February, a 22-year-old British tourist collapsed in a store in Thailand while terrified shoppers fled the scene.<\/p>\n A holiday man was stabbed during a heated argument with a local shopkeeper.<\/p>\n A killer husband who murdered his wife and started a new family under a fake name has been caught after a 30-year manhunt.
