“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” -John 14:6<\/em><\/p>\nSometimes I have difficulty talking to friends who question God’s goodness because they believe in something other than or apart from the gospel.<\/p>\n
“Why would God send good people to hell?” They ask questions. “Why won’t Muslims or Buddhists go to heaven? Your God is too close minded!”<\/p>\n
The sad thing is that there is a lack of understanding of God’s goodness. God doesn’t send people to hell \u2013 we choose where we go. He provided a way through His Son, Jesus Christ, so that “no one should perish but have eternal life.” -John 3:16<\/p>\n
Imagine that a friend of yours was telling you how to get to their house. They gave very specific instructions about how to get there, but you said, “Oh no, it’s okay – I can get there my own way.” You will never be able to get to the place your friend wanted you to go. In fact, you will get lost.<\/p>\n
Our generation is the biggest believer in relative truth. We say, “Do what feels good, as long as it doesn’t affect anyone else.” We rely heavily on grace. There is nothing wrong with freedom in Christ \u2013 it is one of the incredible benefits of our salvation in Him. But, when we believe in anything other than or other than the truth, it binds us in bondage and limits us to the full potential of God’s grace and power to accomplish great things in our lives.<\/p>\n
Do you believe in absolute truth? If you are unsure, ask God to reveal Himself to you today. Often if we don’t have the reason behind the truth, we are less likely to know how to tell others why we believe the way we do. Ask him – he’ll show you.<\/p>\n
