{"id":7849,"date":"2026-03-18T15:38:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/2026\/03\/18\/baby-allegedly-thrown-out-of-window-by-mother-suffered-fatal-head-injuries-court-hears-uk-news\/"},"modified":"2026-03-18T15:38:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:38:10","slug":"baby-allegedly-thrown-out-of-window-by-mother-suffered-fatal-head-injuries-court-hears-uk-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/2026\/03\/18\/baby-allegedly-thrown-out-of-window-by-mother-suffered-fatal-head-injuries-court-hears-uk-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Baby allegedly thrown out of window by mother suffered fatal head injuries, court hears. uk news"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div data-component-name=\"ui-article-body\" data-testid=\"article-body\" data-highlight-intro=\"true\">\n<p>An 18-day-old baby girl was allegedly thrown out of a window by her mother, causing fatal head injuries, a court has heard.<\/p>\n<p>Baby Mariam fell 10 meters (32 feet) from her family&#8217;s third-floor flat in Westminster, central London, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Zahira Byjoune was due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday charged with her daughter&#8217;s murder, but she failed to attend the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The court heard that emergency services arrived within minutes of her husband calling 999 at 7.30am and found Mary lying on a concrete surface between a block of flats and a high metal railing on Great Peter Street.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Philip McGhee said Maryam was taken to hospital in a &#8220;critical condition&#8221; where she died at 9am from a fractured skull.<\/p>\n<p>The police went inside the flat and found his mother sitting on the bed.<\/p>\n<p>The 43-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and then charged with murder the next day.<\/p>\n<p>Maryam&#8217;s father was present in the flat but was said to be preparing baby formula in the kitchen when the defendant allegedly threw the newborn through the sash window.<\/p>\n<p>Mr McGhee said the husband ran outside but was unable to reach his child.
