Key Insights and Record Analysis<\/h3>\n

Kumar Sangakkara has taken the most catches as a wicketkeeper in an innings of IPL. He took five catches for Deccan Chargers against RCB in 2011.<\/p>\n

Morne van Wyk was the first wicketkeeper to take four catches in an IPL innings, doing so for KKR against RCB in 2009.<\/p>\n

MS Dhoni is the only wicketkeeper to take three or more catches in 10 innings in the IPL. He also tops the overall catches record as a wicketkeeper in IPL.<\/p>\n

Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik have taken three or more catches against the same opponent. Dhoni did this against Punjab Kings, while Karthik did this against Rajasthan Royals (RR).<\/p>\n

Sanju Samson is the youngest wicketkeeper to take three or more catches in an IPL innings. He was 18 years and 154 days old when he took three catches for RR In the 2013 game against Punjab<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Adam Gilchrist is the oldest keeper to take more than three catches in an IPL innings. He took four catches for Punjab against CSK in 2012 at the age of 40 years and 185 days. He is also the first captain to score a century for Punjab Kings.<\/p>\n

Jitesh Sharma is the only wicketkeeper to take three or more catches in three innings in an IPL season.<\/p>\n

Dhoni and Naman Ojha are the two wicketkeepers to take three or more catches in consecutive IPL innings. Dhoni achieved this feat in 2012 by taking three catches each against Punjab and MI. Ojha copied the record in 2016 by taking four catches against MI and three against Pune Supergiants for Sunrisers Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

Parthiv Patel, Dhoni, Karthik, AB de Villiers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jitesh are the six wicketkeepers to have taken three catches each in an innings in the IPL playoffs.<\/p>\n

Gurbaz is the only wicketkeeper to take three catches in an IPL final, having done so for KKR against SRH in 2024.<\/p>\n
