The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, called the act &#8220;a grave insult to the Christian faith.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-(18px) md:text-(20px) first-of-type:mt-5 mt-(16px) lg:mt-(28px) leading-(28px) md:leading-8 normal \">In <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IDF\/status\/2046589834341351758\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"text-red-500 hover-underline-animation-red\">a separate post<\/a>The IDF confirmed that the soldier depicted with the sledgehammer and the soldier who took the photo would receive 30 days of military detention and be removed from combat duty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-(18px) md:text-(20px) first-of-type:mt-5 mt-(16px) lg:mt-(28px) leading-(28px) md:leading-8 normal \">According to the IDF, six other IDF members were present and did not take action or report the incident.
