Turns out they were busy with something else. leaked renders Published by Android Headlines Give us our first real look at the ASUS Pad. This is a brand new Android tablet, and it looks like ASUS is serious about getting back into the consumer device game.

The renders show a clean, modern design: thin uniform bezels all around, a metal frame with slightly curved edges, and a flat back panel. There is a small camera island in the top corner that houses a lens and an LED flash. Reportedly 6.5mm thin and 523 grams, it is right on par with other premium tablets in the market in terms of portability.

What the leak says about the specifications

As per the leaked details, the ASUS Pad reportedly packs a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED display with Dolby Atmos via a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, and a stereo speaker setup. Dual-layer OLED is a technology commonly found on high-end devices like the iPad Pro. If the spec holds up, it will give the ASUS Pad one of the strongest displays in the Android tablet space. The battery is reportedly 9,000mAh with fast charging. However, we don’t know about the charging speed yet.

The leak also includes photos of the official case. It’s a transparent design with a multi-angle origami-style folding stand built into the back, letting you stand the tablet at different angles in both portrait and landscape. It’s a practical accessory, and the fact that ASUS has one ready is a sign that a launch may not be too far off.

No chipset, price, availability or launch date has been revealed yet. ASUS hasn’t said a word officially. But seeing as the ASUS Pad is reportedly their first standalone Android tablet since the ZenPad line went silent nearly a decade ago, there’s clearly more to come.

Image Credit – Android Headlines ASUS took a step away from smartphones earlier this year, discontinuing both the ZenFone and ROG Phone lineups, with no new Android handsets planned for 2026.
