HAF said the Hindu American Foundation reacted to President Donald Trump sharing derogatory remarks about India at a time when racism is already at its highest level. As the President of the United States, endorsing such statements will only further fuel hatred and put our communities at risk, at a time when xenophobia and racism are already at their peak. “We ask @realDonaldTrump to reconsider, remove this post, and recognize the indelible contributions of Asian Americans to our great country,” HAF wrote.However, the US Embassy in New Delhi shed light on the controversy and said Trump had praised India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past. Embassy spokesman Christopher Elam said Trump praised India at a world leaders’ summit in 2025 after the Gaza ceasefire that ended the Israel-Hamas war. Trump had said at the time, “India is a great country, with a very good friend of mine at the top and he has done a wonderful job.
