{"id":93708,"date":"2026-04-24T01:32:20","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:32:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/2026\/04\/24\/as-california-chick-fil-a-worker-takes-order-man-hits-him-with-brick\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T01:33:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:33:12","slug":"as-california-chick-fil-a-worker-takes-order-man-hits-him-with-brick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/2026\/04\/24\/as-california-chick-fil-a-worker-takes-order-man-hits-him-with-brick\/","title":{"rendered":"As California Chick-fil-A worker takes order, man hits him with brick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div data-element=\"story-body\" data-subscriber-content=\"\">\n<p>In an incident last month, a 31-year-old man came up behind a woman working at a Central Coast Chick-fil-A, lifted a concrete brick above her head and, without warning, dropped it on her head, shattering it into pieces.<\/p>\n<p>Clayton Peavy, of Santa Maria, has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for the attack, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Peavy previously pleaded guilty to a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon and a special charge of assault occasioning serious bodily injury.<\/p>\n<p>The attack happened at 11:49 a.m. March 2 at the Chick-fil-A at 605 E. Bettervia Road in Santa Maria. The employee was taking orders in the drive-thru line when Peavy approached him from behind and attacked him with a brick.<\/p>\n<p>The woman used her hands to protect herself as Peavy continued to hit her with what remained of the brick before walking away.<\/p>\n<p>The victim &#8220;suffered multiple head injuries, required stitches, a concussion and a broken arm,&#8221; the Santa Barbara County district said. Atty. John T. Savarnoch said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DASantaBarbara\/posts\/pfbid0rdYvYekcsxWBmhtx4e2pJVMvZcbDNjc5orZvKWLpAZHboVjr3177jbXLgmxMJf3Ll\"><u>statement.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Chick-fil-A did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Hickox, owner and operator of Chick-fil-A restaurants, said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/keyt.com\/news\/top-stories\/2026\/03\/02\/santa-maria-police-arrest-clayton-peavey-for-attempted-murder\/\"><u>KEYT-TV<\/u><\/a>    At the time the employee was recuperating at home after being taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was quite shocking,&#8221; he told the station. &#8220;We had a busy drive-thru at the time and there were a lot of people there and a lot of people saw what happened.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Santa Maria Police Department said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DVZhLcNkhvI\/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet\"><u>Instagram<\/u><\/a>    Officers eventually found Peavy in nearby agricultural fields and took him into custody.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile nothing can ever erase the pain and trauma this brave victim was forced to endure as a result of this unprovoked, violent act,\u201d Savarnoch said in a statement, \u201cthe sentence handed down today represents justice and accountability for that unforgivable violent crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an incident last month, a 31-year-old man came up behind a woman working at a Central Coast Chick-fil-A, lifted a concrete brick above her head and, without warning, dropped it on her head, shattering it into pieces.
