Bethel himself has also spoken positively about remaining with RCB despite limited opportunities. In a recent conversation on Sky Cricket Podcast, the young England batsman revealed that being a part of the tournament has already improved his game. He said that because of the level of cricket around him and the opportunity to spend time with top international players, he feels like a better player than he was a month ago. Bethel described the IPL as a unique experience that many people cannot fully understand unless they are a part of it.<\/p>\n

He also said that the quality of the tournament due to the intensity and caliber of competition naturally motivates players to raise their standards, even subconsciously.<\/p>\n

“I feel better now after the World Cup than I did a month ago, just spending time with the people here and the pure standard of cricket in India and through the IPL. It’s something that a lot of people won’t understand until actually being around a team or a tournament, how good it is when you’re here. It’s a completely different experience.
