The FCDO has updated its travel advice for Mali, urging people not to travel to the African country after reports of “coordinated attacks” emerged.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The updated warning comes after \u201cattacks that took place on April 25 in several locations in Mali,\u201d the FCDO said, which also mentioned a blockade imposed by a terrorist group.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The warning also said: \u201cThe terrorist group Jama’a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimeen (JNIM) has imposed a blockade of major routes throughout southern and western Mali, including the capital Bamako.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“These blockades are targeting fuel trucks and implementing checkpoints for individuals trying to pass through them. “Attacks can happen at any time. \u201cThe risk of kidnapping and criminal activity remains high throughout Mali, including the capital Bamako.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
