    TL;DR

    • Google is reportedly testing a beta update with affected users to fix the Pixel boot loop issue.
    • Since the April patch didn’t fix the issue, a fix may come with the May 2026 Pixel update.
    • Some users may be eligible for device replacement by contacting Google Support.

Earlier this month, we reported that many Pixel users were experiencing severe boot loop issues after installing the March 2026 Pixel drop. The issue appears to affect a wide range of Pixel phones, from the Pixel 6 series to the latest Pixel 10 lineup.

Despite Google acknowledging the issue on its issue tracker, no official fix or clear explanation has been provided as to its cause. Now, it looks like Google is finally making some progress towards identifying and fixing the problem.

A user who is actively documenting the issue on Google’s issue tracker Claim Google has reached out to them directly with a possible solution. According to the user, Google support contacted them via email and offered access to a beta update that may fix the boot loop issue. The company has also reportedly invited users to meet with its engineering team to discuss the issue and assist in testing the update.

“They also said the beta update would not reset my phone’s data,” the user reports.

This suggests that Google is now actively testing the issue with affected users. It’s possible that Google is testing this solution in a controlled environment before rolling it out to everyone.

With the April 2026 Pixel update already arriving, any fix to the boot loop issue will likely come with next month’s patch, assuming Google’s testing goes as planned.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and update you as soon as Google releases an official fix. In the meantime, if you don’t want to wait, reports from the issue tracker suggest that the company may offer replacement for the affected devices. You’ll need to contact Google Support to see if your phone is eligible.

Other Pixel Problems After Recent Update

While the boot loop issue is the most serious problem reported after the March update, unfortunately, it is not the only problem that Pixel users are facing right now.

Many Pixel owners are reporting excessive battery drain after the recent update, causing devices to charge much faster than before. Additionally, both the March and April patches are also being blamed for lagging, sluggish performance, which suggests that the overall software experience has been affected for many users.
