Prince Harry’s fears for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been exposed, with insiders saying the trauma of their past is having a profound impact on their future in the public eye.
Talking about fatherhood, the Duke of Sussex talked about the emotional impact of losing his mother, Princess Diana, at a charity event held in Melbourne, Australia in November.
“Certainly from a medical perspective, you want to be the best version of yourself for your children,” Harry told the crowd.
He added, “And I knew I had things from the past that I had to deal with and so, basically free myself from the past.”
“My wife was the one building the life, and I was there to see it… I think for many people, you try to think about what service I can provide at this point, because my work here is somewhat done.”
However, an insider told a US-based entertainment site that Harry’s concerns go far beyond personal treatment.
“There’s a deep fear there – not just about our past, but also about what might happen in the future,” he said.
“He never escaped the spotlight that surrounded Diana, and he worries that his children might one day face similar pressures,” the insider said.
“For Harry, the memory of his mother’s accident is not just history – it is a constant warning. His greatest fear is that if his children are pulled too far into the world of celebrity, they could be exposed to the same dangers that led to his mother’s death.”
