Donald Trump praised King Charles as a “brave man” for not canceling an official visit to the US despite the shootings at the White House correspondents’ dinner over the weekend.
The British monarch and his wife Queen Camilla’s four-day visit to the United States was in doubt after reports of an armed man breaching security and discharging a firearm at the White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday, April 25.
However, it has now been confirmed that the royal couple will travel as planned.
But I am saying 60 minutesPresident Trump said, “(The King) is a great man, and we look forward to it. He’s really a wonderful man and a tremendous representative, and he’s brave.

Meanwhile, the British Ambassador in Washington told CBS News That “our team has been in touch overnight and will continue to be in touch throughout the day to see if there have been any changes to our operational plan as a result of last night’s events.”
Sir Christian Turner added, “I am confident that Her Majesty will receive the best possible protection throughout her visit.”
He added, “I mean, (it’s) a sad backdrop for all of us after last night. But I’m still hopeful that we’ll be able to capture this moment and make it the celebration it deserves.”
