Jamie Ding’s historic winning streak continues In danger! After maintaining it in a large number of games it has ended.
The 33-year-old self-proclaimed bureaucrat and law student, who hails from New Jersey, was victorious in 31 consecutive games and won $882,605 in prize money before he lost the game to Greg Schaade on the Monday, April 27 episode of Jeopardy!
while talking to People Magazine, Ding said he felt mixed emotions as his run came to an end, but that it had been a remarkable journey.
Informing the outlet about Schade defeating him by 13,990 points, the Princeton graduate said, “I think my last game is unusual, because I was a super champion, but I also lost in a runaway, which I think is the first time that’s happened.”
He quipped, “It almost makes me feel better about this thing because there wasn’t really any one clue or anything that everything hinged on.”
Notably, this was why Ding chose to write a farewell note on his final Jeopardy reply that read “TTFN,” (ta ta for now).
He said, “Being a runaway means I have to write a goodbye message instead of nothing. If there was a chance to come out with a win I wouldn’t have done that.”
It’s worth mentioning that Jamie Ding placed second because James Holzhauer won 32 consecutive games on Jeopardy! In 2019.
