Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal has urged his team to keep fighting after their defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday.

After being bowled out for just 75 runs in the match in Delhi, DC lost by 9 wickets with 81 balls remaining. The result shocked everyone as Delhi Capitals suffered their worst collapse in the IPL in recent memory.

This defeat has now tarnished their chances of reaching the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals had to face defeat

RCB won the toss and invited the home team to bat. This decision proved to be correct as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed debutant Sahil Parakh on the very second ball of the match. That was just a sign of things to come.

Bhuvneshwar and his new ball partner Josh Hazlewood struck three times each in the powerplay to leave Delhi at 8/6 – the worst start in IPL history. Delhi could ultimately manage only 13/6 in the powerplay – the lowest score in IPL history with on-field restrictions.

Impact players Abhishek Porel and David Miller made a partnership of 35 runs to save Delhi from the embarrassment of getting out on the lowest score in IPL history.

Poriyal scored a fighting 30 runs, but Delhi could score only 75 runs, leaving the target of 76 runs for RCB.

RCB needed just 39 balls to complete the chase as Devdutt Padikkal played a quickfire inning of 34 not out. RCB’s win with 81 balls to spare is the second biggest win with balls remaining in IPL history.

Although RCB are still second on the points table, they now have the best net run rate in the league, which will help their cause in the backend of the season.

Parth Jindal urges the team to move forward and fight

After the defeat, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal gave a message to the fans to keep the faith. He told the team that they should keep fighting and keep the faith. He also said that there can be no better time than this to be together.

In their last match, Delhi Capitals could not defend the target of 265 runs against Punjab Kings on the same ground. They are currently continuing their losing streak of three matches.

Be together now more than ever @DelhiCapitals -It is really very difficult to bear but we must keep fighting and keep the faith.

Jindal, who also co-owns teams in other sports leagues, is considered one of the more enthusiastic owners towards the development and promotion of sports in India.

    Upcoming matches of Delhi Capitals

After three consecutive defeats, DC are now placed seventh in the IPL 2026 points table. Their next match is against the better-placed Rajasthan Royals on May 1 in Jaipur.

With just 3 wins from 8 matches and the second-worst net run rate in the league, Delhi’s playoff hopes are all but over at this point.
