Taylor Swift has opened up about fan theories about her music.
talking with the new York Times, love story The singer acknowledged that some fan theories may seem “weird” if taken too far.
Addressing fans’ extreme passion, Swift said, “I have to know that certain things are a tradition between me and my fans.”
“They like track 5 (on the album) to be an emotional song,” he said.
Noting, “There are special things like that, but at the same time, there are a lot of them – which is great – but there are certain corners of my fan base that will take things to a really extreme place. There’s nothing I can do about it.”
Swift also said that her fan group has “spies” who find out the details behind her songs, which makes her uncomfortable. “That’s when it gets a little weird to me, when people act like it’s like a paternity test.”
Swift said, “Like, ‘This song is about that guy,’ because I’m like, ‘That guy didn’t write the song, I wrote it.’
However, Taylor Swift says that she knew before the track’s release that it was up for interpretation. “Here it goes! Hope you like it! And if you never do, I was doing it for me anyway.”
It’s worth mentioning that the singer’s latest album The Life of a Showgirl also became part of fan theories. While much of it was inspired by her relationship with Travis Kelce, fans also speculated about her former teammates, including Joe Alwyn, Joe Jonas, and Matt Healy.
