Samsung has just released the second April update for your Galaxy phones

Samsung usually applies one security patch every month, then the next. But as April 2026 ends, the company is doing something different. Many of us have been double-checking our software update screens as the second April patch is being surprisingly released for Samsung’s flagship phones.

Earlier in April, the Galaxy S26 and S25 already received their scheduled updates. But now we’re seeing a new follow-up update, which has been seen for the first time droid lifeWhich probably means there was a last minute security issue or some important fix that couldn’t wait until May.

Verizon’s changelog Vaguely, all that is being said is that these updates provide “the most up-to-date Android security patches for your device.” However, the new build numbers show that these are not just repeats. They are brand new versions that have not appeared in update trackers before.

The standard Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra are getting the AZDG build. The Galaxy S25 series, including the S25 Edge, is moving to manufacture BZCL. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are also getting the update.

While the S26 and S25 are getting their second update this month, the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are getting their first April security update, just before the month ends.

That said, there are no new features to report yet, but Samsung only sends a second monthly update when it’s critical for stability or security.
