Thoughts on today’s verse…
It is quite difficult to tell the truth. You mean we have to do it in love? Yes, if we are to be Jesus’ man or woman, we must speak to others the way he did. As the Spirit grows us to be more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18), we will share our hope in Jesus with humility and respect (1 Peter 3:15-16), just as Jesus spoke to those lost people who were seeking Him. Our goal in speaking with others is not to win arguments, but to win hearts for the Savior.
My prayer…
Father, forgive me for the bitterness of my heart and the unfairness of my lips. Through Your Spirit, help me to better use my voice to bless others and glorify You. May I speak your truth with love in all my conversations today. Through Him who is truth and love, I pray. Amen.
