Niall Horan is highlighting Olivia Rodrigo’s “big influence” on pop music.
East in the same direction The singer talked about Olivia, whose third album YYou love a girl so much, it feels so sad Set to be released in June, has changed the way pop music is written.
Niall told in an interview rolling stone, referring to olivia’s album sour and guts, “(Bridges) It’s great to hear. I feel like Olivia Rodrigo has been a big influence on pop writers.
​”What I love about Olivia’s music is that you feel like you’re getting one song and then you get a completely different song.”
​He added, “It completely turns it on its head musically, goes somewhere different, brings you to a bridge, brings you to some weird musical breakdown thing.
Niall concluded, referring to Olivia’s producing partner Dan Nigro, “What[he]and Dan Nigro are doing is a nice little team going out there. It’s definitely impressing people, including me.”

Niall is also releasing his new album Dinner Party in June, revealing he took inspiration from pop-punk bands blink 182.
He further added, “That drum sound is something we were trying to pursue, and that comes from the punk-rock era of the late ’90s, early 2000s.”
Niall also recalled his childhood memories with music while sharing his future plans.
​”Rock has been a big influence on my life since I was a kid. I write pop songs, but sometimes it’s cool to produce them in a different way. And now, with the way my career is going, I’m totally thinking about live shows all the time. I’ve learned a lot from being on the road and being there every night.”
