King Charles received a surprise during his final engagement in Bermuda.
On Saturday, the monarch was shown a video message from Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen during his visit.
The message, recorded while Jeremy traveled around the Moon as part of Artemis II, thanked Charles for his ongoing support and reflection on environmental stewardship.
The official Instagram handle of the royal family posted a video clip of King Charles’ visit.
The description shared in the caption revealed, “Out of this world! As a special surprise during Her Majesty’s final engagement in Bermuda, the King was shown a video message from Canadian astronaut Colonel Jeremy Hansen, filmed during his trip around the Moon on Artemis II.”
The caption further reads, “@AstroJeremy thanks the King for his good wishes and thoughts on environmental stewardship, ahead of his historic mission.”
“To ensure space is safe and clutter-free, the UK Space Agency (@spacegovuk) is launching “Project NOVA” – establishing five telescope sites around the world to track space debris and support international stability,” it further revealed.
The palace also noted, “Bermuda is the first of those locations – and this morning, The King officially launched the project.”
“In 2022, The King’s @SustainableMarketsInitiative launches ‘Astra Carta’ to act as a framework to inspire sustainability in the space industry,” it concluded.
King Charles’s visit to Bermuda comes after the king completed a four-day state visit to the United States with Queen Camilla.
