Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip (and Z Fold) series is preparing to enter its eighth generation later this year, and we have a new report from South Korea that sheds light on some potential changes coming to the Flip model.
Samsung is expected to bring a crease-free folding panel with a new hinge mechanism. The new report doesn’t go into detail, but we can assume Samsung will use dual-layer Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), as it is rumored to do with the Z Fold8.
Galaxy Z Flip8 renders
The Z Flip8 is said to be slightly longer than the existing model, and despite the upgraded hardware, it will reportedly be 8 grams lighter than its predecessor. Unfortunately, Samsung isn’t expected to change the Z Fold8’s camera, meaning we’ll likely see the same 50MP main and 12MP ultrawide shooters for the third time. No changes are also reported in the external display, speaker and vibration motor.
Previous reports suggest that the Z Flip7’s 4,300mAh battery capacity and 25W charging speed will also come to the Z Flip8. Also, the latest reports suggest that we will see a slight increase in prices, which may be limited to the South Korean market.
