Good morning! How are you? how was your weekend? We had a very sports-filled weekend and it started on Friday night with the conclusion of the Spring Rec Soccer season for our older kids.
Remember when I thought I had hacked the “multiple kids sports craziness” by booking both the older kids’ soccer practices and games on the same night of the week, but things caught up to me at the last minute with games planned at opposite ends of town and practices planned on different days? Well, that change resulted in our busiest game session ever, but it’s getting closer and has become more manageable than I thought. Although I wish we were all together for Friday night games and Chase and Ryder got a chance to cheer each other on the field once or twice, for the most part it was good.
Ryan and I took turns each Friday attending which big kids’ game and I was on Friday night rider duty. Ryder had his best last game of the season and was so much fun to watch!

Ryder loves soccer and plays it constantly in the backyard with his brothers and Ryan, but every time we asked if he wanted to play on a team, his answer was always a strong ‘no’. This spring something changed and suddenly he said that he Did Want to play in a team. He performed very well this season. We are so proud of our amazing introverted little housemate for stepping out of his comfort zone to do something that makes him happy.
Saturday
Saturday morning was a beautiful slow-paced morning with no plans on the agenda. God, I love that feeling! We spent the day relaxing eating homemade waffles for breakfast making squishy!
we did the same experiment amazon kit We’ve used this in the past to make some good friends and it’s always been a hit. (Tip: If you get this kit, make sure the molds are slightly wet with the water solution before filling so they can move easily when dipped in water.)
Ryan and I also took turns doing his and her workouts and I did the Move Together Challenge workout!
For any fellow challengers, there are four starred priority workouts within the challenge and these are the workouts I commit to completing each week. I may do an additional two workouts if I have the time or desire, but my main goal is to do the 30-45 minute priority workouts each week, because that’s something I know I can complete successfully. Saturday’s workout was actually one of the priority workouts I had to skip during the week so I’m glad I was able to get it done!
After my workout, I went home and took a bath and then we all had an early lunch. Our afternoon plans took us downtown to Discovery Place Science!
It was a hazy, dreary day, so an indoor activity was calling to us and this fit the bill. We’ve been longtime members of both Discovery Place Kids and Discovery Place Science since Chase was a kid and have loved these local gems.

On the way home, we stopped at a local bakery for some sweet treats before greeting Comet and taking him for a walk as the sun finally started to peek out from behind the clouds.
Our evening plans had us back on the field for Chase’s flag football game.
