Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily Baldoni were spotted in Nashville on Wednesday, just two days after resolving his legal dispute with Blake Lively.
The actor and his wife Emily were filmed holding hands outside a café in Tennessee.
Baldoni and Emily, a Swedish actress, have been married since 2013 and have two children, daughter Maia Grace and son Maxwell Roland-Samuel.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni settled a lawsuit brought by Lively over the filming of the 2024 romantic drama “It End’s With Us,” both sides said Monday, postponing a civil trial scheduled for May, where both actors were expected to testify about Lively’s allegations of sexual misconduct by Baldoni.
The settlement, announced in a joint statement that did not disclose terms, ends more than a year of bitter litigation that drew intense publicity as details of Lively’s allegations and Baldoni’s counterclaims were filed in court.
The statement said both parties expect the deal will bring “closure.”
Lively, widely known for starring in the TV series “Gossip Girl,” sued Baldoni, his production company Wayfarer Studios and others in December 2024, seeking compensation for alleged harassment, defamation, invasion of privacy and violations of federal and state civil rights laws.
She said the defendants created an environment of sexual harassment during the production of the film, then launched a smear campaign to silence her.
Baldoni, who directed and co-starred in “It Ends with Us”, countered that he immediately addressed Lively’s concerns and said he was entitled to hire a crisis management firm after Lively began publicly insulting him.
U.S. District Judge Lewis Lyman dismissed Lively’s sexual harassment claims on April 2, but details of the actor’s allegations could still emerge in a civil trial scheduled for May 18 over his retaliation claims.
The dispute became public in December 2024 when Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni with the California Department of Civil Rights, leading to a lawsuit. A related article published in The New York Times was titled: “‘We Can Bury Anyone’: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine.”
Baldoni sued Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, for defamation, saying they tried to destroy his reputation, but Liman dismissed that case in June. The judge also dismissed Baldoni’s defamation case against the Times.
In “It Ends with Us”, Lively played a flower shop owner who marries a neurosurgeon, played by Baldoni.
