Tim Roth, who also appears in the new project, also said that television allows more room to explore characters’ characteristics and flaws. He added that entire episodes can focus on one aspect of a character, which is not always possible in films.
Despite the show’s global reach and Tommy Shelby’s popularity, Murphy rejected the idea that his performance was central to its success.
He commented, “It’s very humbling when it happens, but I think the fans are doing it.”
