As we move into May and the promise of summer starts to feel a little more real, I’m taking a look at the shoe trends the celebrity style set is gravitating toward first. While sleek kitten heels and minimalist flip-flops are already proving popular among fashionistas, I’m seeing them a little less often than I thought. Instead, major allegations continue to surface against some of the hottest celebrities at the moment.

This trend came onto my radar when I saw Emily Ratajkowski step out this week in a pair of light beige stockings, styled with a knee-length pencil skirt. Worn with one of the biggest skirt trends of the season, the choice of casual shoes added spontaneity to her outfit. By adding a thin leather jacket and keeping accessories to a minimum, the shoes contributed an easy, undone energy.

Then there was Zoe Kravitz, who was spotted in the same sandal-adjacent silhouette this week. In keeping with her signature aesthetic, she paired it with wide black trousers and a long black trench coat.
Less expensive than ballet flats, but smarter Trainers, clogs sit in that sweet spot, maintaining a comfortable quality that works for everyday styling. And while they were once dismissed as a bit ‘ugly’, they’re set to become one of this season’s favourites.
