King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the State Opening of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster on Tuesday!
Buckingham Palace shared photos from one of Britain’s most historic royal ceremonies via Instagram.
It is the third time King Charles has opened Parliament as sovereign since he ascended the throne in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
The information shared in the caption read: “The King and Queen attended the State Opening of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster.”
It added, “The ceremonial event formally marks the beginning of each parliamentary year. It is the only regular occasion when the three constituent parts of Parliament – the Sovereign, the House of Lords and the House of Commons – meet.”
The caption added, “Today marks the third occasion that Her Majesty has opened Parliament as Sovereign.”
