    Of the 225 pesticides analyzed, 27 remained associated with higher eOCRC rates even after taking into account socio-economic factors such as income, education and employment. But picloram was the only one that persisted after controlling for other chemicals being used on the same land, meaning that rates of colorectal cancer were significantly higher among young adults in counties with heavy use of picloram, and that pattern could not be explained by other pesticides or economic differences.
