As reported by Hello! magazine: “(Kate) decided to do something with her bag that might raise a few eyebrows. Kate carefully lowered her brand new powder blue Espero onto the floor outside Reggio Emilia Town Hall.”
The outlet continued: “This action was possible… so she could have used both hands to gesture to the children, but it could be considered a faux pas or a taboo move by many etiquette experts, as it could be seen as unlucky or even dirty.”
“The Princess of Wales’s return to the international stage was never going to be a quiet affair,” says royal expert Russell Myers.
