Google I/O 2026 is finally here. On May 19, 2026, Google will take the stage in California to announce all the new software (and probably some hardware) initiatives the company has been preparing for the past year. While it will undoubtedly focus heavily on AI, Google may also have a few other announcements up its sleeve. If you’re looking for the latest information on each of those announcements, you’ve come to the right place.
From now until Google I/O ends, I’ll be updating this live blog with all the updates I come across. This includes any leaks and rumors that surfaced in anticipation of the show, as well as any revelations shared by Google during the I/O keynote. I will share any updates Google provides on Gemini and its features as well as any of its other AI models (like Nano Banana Lyria, VO, etc.); I’ll be publishing any updates on Android XR, the company’s upcoming Smart Glasses UI, and whether we can expect to purchase the hardware in the near future; And while Google already shared a ton of Android-related news during The Android Show: I/O Edition last week, the company may still have a few Android 17 announcements to share.
What do you think so far?
