Katie Price has claimed to have finally spoken to her husband Lee Andrews after almost two weeks of uncertainty over his whereabouts in Dubai.
The reality star said Lee contacted her in a brief phone call from Al Aweer Prison, a Dubai prison known for its harsh conditions. Katie also revealed that Lee told her he was arrested on suspicion of spying – a claim which has already been challenged by Lee’s ex Alana Percival.
While reports are circulating that he is expected to be released on Monday, Alana has shared her thoughts on the matter and questioned whether his alleged release date will actually happen. “Look Monday will never come. He banned me for 3 weeks yesterday and accused me of spying,” he wrote on Instagram.
Lee, 43, first went missing about two weeks ago when he was reportedly traveling to London to join Katie on a television programme. During that time, Katie publicly stated that she feared she had been kidnapped after receiving disturbing messages and videos from him.
Now, according to a recent phone call with Katie, Lee is alive and well. “I’ve found him – he’s alive and well,” Katie said. Sun.
She added, “I told him how worried I was and told him I loved him. It was too soon, but he said the officers there thought he was a spy.”
The update comes days after reports claimed that Lee had been arrested in Dubai. Katie previously denied those claims and insisted she was still missing.
Reports now say that Li was detained on May 14. His father Peter also previously told media outlets that his son had been arrested, although he said it was due to an undisclosed charge.
It is worth mentioning that Dubai’s Al Aweer Prison has gained a reputation for overcrowded conditions and allegations of severe treatment involving prisoners. The report claims that prisoners may be held in cramped shared cells for long periods of time.
Katie asked followers for help and shared emotional messages online as she tried to locate Lee over the past several days. She also claimed that during an earlier FaceTime call, she had seen him inside a van with his hands tied with cable wires and a hood over his head.
