Lace Shorts: Love Them or Leave Them? Initially, I was on the fence, but this trend has really grown on me, especially since it’s evolved into different interpretations, like longer lengths. And I know a lot of you are loving it too, so I thought it was about time we had a chat! If you’re a millennial, you probably remember the lace shorts trend of the 2000s and 2010s. At the time, styles were typically very short, with layers of white or ivory lace layered over each other and paired with copious amounts of accessories (I’m talking endless scarves, layered necklaces, and sky-high wedges — no matter how short the shorts were). Even in the 1970s, the first versions of lace shorts with a more bohemian feel existed, often paired with flowy tops in crocheted styles.

Today’s lace shorts feel more sophisticated, with a longer inseam, higher fabric and minimalist styling.
