Dakota Johnson’s mother was among the thousands of people who reacted to the British royal family’s announcement that Idris Elba has been honored by King Charles III for his work with youth.
The royal family shared several photos from the investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
Elba, best known for his roles in “Luther” and “The Wire”, was awarded a knighthood for his anti-knife crime campaign with young people.
Dakota Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, expressed support for the recipients by liking Elba and others’ Instagram posts and praised the monarch for honoring people for the public good.
Alba was among hundreds named in King Charles’s New Year Honors list, published in December 2025.
