As a beauty editor, I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I haven’t Getting a haircut in more than six months. You see, I am in a dilemma about what to do with my length and even my hair color, as a result my hair looks worse for wear, has split ends and Very Of brass. Even on good hair days, my hair becomes frizzy and lifeless, and with my frizzy ends, even the best conditioners and hair masks aren’t cutting it. And as someone who tests hair tools for a living (and is often a little lax in using heat protection — oops), my hair is looking and feeling frizzy.

so when ui is new bond repair balm (£46) arrived on my desk, promising to fix my lengths in just three minutes, so I swiftly took it home to test it. And I’m so glad I did, because this has easily become one of my favorite new beauty launches this year. Scroll on for the full review and everything you need to know.

For those already familiar with hair bond repairers, they basically work to recreate the scaffolding that binds your hair together. hair tools like Hair straighteners and hair color can weaken the bonds, so products like OA’s Bond Repair Balm help repair these internal structures, leaving your hair looking and feeling healthy.

This formula contains vegan silk protein, hyaluronic acid, peptides derived from hydrolyzed rice protein, and a lipid replacement complex that work together to smooth, hydrate, and repair your hair. The balm itself is light and silky, and spreads easily across your lengths. You only need one pump (or a little more if you have thick or long hair, and maybe a little less for thin hair or short hair), and a little goes a long way.

It takes the place of your conditioner in your routine, so after shampoo, you simply apply it to your lengths in place of conditioner. My favorite part is that you only have to leave it on for three minutes before you wash it off. For those of you who are like me, this is a total time saver compared to waiting in a hair mask for 20 minutes. Oh, and of course, it smells amazing (as do all of Oui’s hair products) with Melrose Place’s cult scent of rose, lisi and white musk.

    before and after

Here is my hair before using the balm. My hair looks and feels damaged in the mid-lengths; It doesn’t have the shine I want, and it feels frizzy and rough to the touch.

And here is my hair after using the Bond Repair Balm. I can see and feel the difference in the health of my hair, which now has more noticeable shine and smoothness. My length feels so silky that my The hairbrush glides easily through my easily tangled lengths, and it generally feels more manageable and less frizzy overall. I even think it helped improve the color of my old balayage through the mid-lengths, which was an unexpected bonus!

    my decision

It’s safe to say that this is one of the best hair products I’ve tried in recent months. And I don’t think it’s any coincidence that more people than me have asked me this past week what I use on my hair. Somehow, this bond repair balm is convincing people that my hair is healthy, when in reality, it has been quite neglected after not going to the salon for months. I really like that it takes the place of conditioner, and it only needs to be left on for three minutes, making it easy for a lazy editor like me to nourish my hair without the need for a hair mask. You only need one pump, so don’t be tempted to apply too much, as it may seem a little heavy, but if your lengths are long or thick, you may need a little more. But overall, I plan to keep a bottle of this in my bathroom at all times from now on.
