Just months after marrying into the royal family, there has been a flurry of allegations against Meghan Markle, whether it’s due to her father Thomas Markle’s absence from her wedding, or the fact that King Charles chose her to walk on his path. But a new book by commentator and author Hugo Vickers reveals a far more systematic thing on Meghan’s part.
The book that exposes this and accuses Meghan of systematically altering Prince Harry’s voice comes through Queen Elizabeth II. In it, the firm’s longtime friend wrote about the things Meghan had gradually banned near her residence, as well as the rude behavior with which she hung out.
According to one allegation, Meghan is said to have been rude to gardeners at Windsor, prompting the intervention of Queen Elizabeth, now deceased.
Furthermore, it has even been said that she banned the presence of cars near the playing field only because “she could see them from nearby Frogmore Cottage”.
But the change observers saw in Prince Harry’s speeches was said to be significant because just months after his wedding, he already had a “California ring.” Mr Vickers even revealed, “In October 2018, they toured Australia, which was considered a success, but every speech Harry gave was scrutinized by Meghan. The following year, in 2019, he looked uncomfortable and there seemed to be zero chemistry between them. He seemed unhappy on Easter Day, and in the general sense was a man who had ‘bitten off more than he could chew’.”
A few years later the Sandringham summit took place, which many consider to be the final negotiations before Megist which pushed the Sussexes to the other side of the pond.
At the time, Prince Harry, who was “keen to discuss the way forward with the Queen”, wanted a ‘half-in, half-out arrangement’, “under which he would be self-funding but could still work for the royal family,” as Mr Vickers explains. That’s why “in the New Year of 2020, three private secretaries, Sir Edward Young, Sir Clive Alderton and Simon Case, went into summit mode on the Sandringham estate and drafted their proposal.
However, when Prince Harry went to Sandringham for the meeting he was told “it was either all in or all out” and thus he was said to have returned to Canada “reluctantly”.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s life after Megxit:
What happened next is said to have been a rapid ‘transition’, as seen in behind-the-scenes images the Sussexes shared in their documentary for Netflix a few years later.
From Vancouver Island, Canada, to Santa Barbara, California, and Tyler Perry’s home in between, the couple traveled at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. But before then, her final round of royal duties included attending the Endeavor Fund Awards and the Commonwealth Day service held at Westminster Abbey.
A few years later, news came that the 12-month ‘review period’ had ended, which meant the Sussexes would not be officially confirmed to return to royal life. This also led to Prince Harry being stripped of his honorary military titles and royal patronage.
On interviews from that point, (Oprah Winfrey, 60 Minutes, CBS, BBC) The documentary series, (Harry and Meghan) debuted right after deals were signed with both Netflix and Spotify.
While the Netflix deal is said to be going on, albeit in a reduced capacity, the Spotify deal fell through and fans even saw the CEO, Daniel Ek, come out and accuse the pair of being “disrespectful.”
A few years later, around 2023, in January the memoir Prince Harry was working on came out titled Spare, and it featured details of the Sandringham summit, the Dog Bowl incident (where Prince Harry was thrown by his brother) as well as promising ‘more material’ should a second book be considered.
Amidst all this (in 2021), Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor joined the family, but not before Meghan suffered a miscarriage, which she later wrote for The New York Times in the headline ‘The Losses We Share’.
The only documented return to the UK where Meghan accompanied her husband was for Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee (June 2022), followed by her funeral. However, it didn’t end there as the King’s coronation followed, with Lilibet and Archie becoming Prince and Princess, as is their ‘birthright’ in their father’s words, followed by the father and son duo making their first official contact in many years at Windsor Castle over tea for about an hour. The anti-royal interviews have subsided since then, and the Sussexes are said to be working towards rehabilitation, despite rumors of Prince William’s dissatisfaction.
