Bangladesh’s legendary all-rounder shakib al hassan Has come forward to remove the growing uncertainty regarding its international future.

Shakib Al Hasan has made his position clear on his future

Amid intense debate and speculation, the 39-year-old has made it clear that his priority is cricket, not politics, as he hopes for one last opportunity to represent his country.

The controversy started after a recent interview where Shakib made comments that were interpreted through a political lens. His statement about continuing with cricket despite political activities slowing down quickly went viral, drawing criticism from various sections of the public. Given his previous association with the Awami League, the reaction was swift and sometimes harsh.

Understanding the confusion and reaction, Shakib decided to clarify his stand through a detailed message on social media. He stressed that his focus is solely on the game and he wants to give his best in the final phase of his career.

“Recently, one of my statements in the media has created a lot of buzz. I want to explain this matter clearly to everyone. At the moment, my entire focus is only on cricket. In this final phase of my career, I want to give my best for the Bangladesh national team and give some great performances for the country if I get a chance.” He has written.

His words reflected both a sense of urgency and a desire to end his career on a positive note. For a player who steered Bangladesh cricket for nearly two decades, the idea of one last chapter in national colors clearly holds deep emotional significance.

Shakib wishes to serve his country beyond cricket

While Shakib acknowledged his interest in contributing to the country beyond cricket, he clarified that such ambitions are not his immediate focus. He talked about the importance of politics in nation building but also highlighted that there are many ways to serve the country.

“Politics is very important for the development of the country. After finishing my cricket career, I want to contribute to the development of my country. However, it does not happen only through politics. It is possible to work for the country outside politics too. But yes, it can be easier to do those things through politics.” he explained.

It seems that this balanced perspective was intended to calm the narrative around his intentions. By separating his cricket goals from his political views, Shakib attempted to focus on what he does best – performing on the field.

He ended his message on an emotional note and appealed for support from fans as he looks to script a fitting conclusion to his career.

“I hope I can finish my cricket career wearing the red and green jersey with a smile on my face. For this I seek prayers and love from all the people of Bangladesh.” He said.
